Before this school year even ended, I have been thinking about this upcoming school year!!! Looking at School Girl Style for new classroom decor and PINNING crazy and exciting ideas for my Kinders.
I have been craving a VMS from McDonald's for quite some time, but I am going to keep with my diet and JUST SAY NO!!! They are so good though...hmmmm.
Currently, I have been catching on OITNB..I am a little late, because I was waiting on the hubby to watch with me, but he's behind on it so I have been doing my own thing LOL!!! Already on episode 5 of this new season.
And finally, I am an all star in all things!!! But, especially in listening. With my friends, family, kinders...these ears are always on and ready.

Defending Play in K!
I came across a pin on PINTREST by Herding Kats In Kindergarten !!! It said, "You can discover more about a child through play than in a year of standardized tests."
DUH.I couldn't have agreed more! So, I wanted to add my two cents on this matter :)
With a BS in Birth-Kindergarten and now obtaining a MEd in BK: Leadership and Administration I know the importance of hands on learning. I taught NC PreK for two years and moved to K this past school year. There was a world of difference, but I stayed true to who I am as an early childhood educator and catered to my students play through learning, creating a fun environment based on what we were learning. For example, I created redwood trees in the classroom when we discussed the rain forest (sorry, no photos from the classroom, but....)
For one of my graduate courses, I did research on the topic of the Power of K! The Power of K position statement is one to read!! It basically lets you know that K classrooms in NC need to be engaging and have interactive experiences. K-8 years old is the age that is crucial for early learning; within this age range students are in their prime time for growing, learning, and developing. I am a true believer that students learn through their environment and real-life experiences. Real life experiences are hand on what the children know...so, teachers need to bring this into the classroom!
Herding Kats in Kindergarten's Center Signs with the "I Can" statements is so smart and beneficial to centers in the classroom. The only "I Can" statements I had were on the white specifically only for reading, writing, phonics, math, science, and social studies.
This upcoming school year I will have specific centers in my room, such as art, cozy area, library, manipulatives, writing, sand/water and listening. Unfortunately, no blocks or housekeeping due to limited funds, but that will be soon changing!!

TPT Dare To Dream
My Dreams for TpT
Inspiring others is such a great feeling!! You can get inspired by quotes, pictures, ideas, etc. I use TpT to inspire other educators with my creative juices so they can inspire their students with my learning activities. So, hop on over to check them out!!
Having a few extra dollars on the side does not hurt at ALL! Especially, with a growing family :) The products I sale on TpT will help me buy my two year old extra things he may like, put money towards savings for trips, love you gifts for the hubby...LOL!! Just whatever. It's a good feeling to know you have that extra income.
My ultimate dream is to have my own child care center before I am 30. This has always been a dream of mine! I love to educate, I love the youth, I love to inspire, and provide for others. Being in child care since 2009 and growing since then with having my BS in Birth-Kindergarten and now obtaining my Master's is a great educational outlook for my dream. The experience and knowledge that I have about early childhood leads to the great products on TpT.
I need to just keep letting the Lord guide me and Bless this business to open up more doors for me in the future!
What are your dreams?

Excavating the chocolate chips out...
"I got 24!!!"
Mrs. Johnson, I counted 17!!!
So, let's take it back to Dr. Seuss Day !!!
Let's make some Dr. Seuss Hats, while we watch "The Cat in the Hat"!!!
They were all silent :)
Supplies we used for our edible "hats"
Let's back up some more to our 100 days of school...
Fun day for the kiddos
They had the option to create their own shirts with 100 things on them.
Yummy gummy bears...
Then some FUN!! math time.
100 Hershey kisses for our game ---> "Our Kisses"
So we played the game by making a 100 chart and writing numbers 0-100 on the bottom of 101 Hershey kisses...the students then had to place the correct number on the bottom of the kisses to that on the board.
SO MUCH FUN!

This fun, interactive, literacy booklet allows your students to go into a deeper understanding of their vowels.
